DIY Another power steering / electric / where can I take my mini question

Hi all,

I have a 2003 mini one and owned it from new. It has its second power steering pump in it already and the other week it just stopped working when I turned it over.

I drove it home and stupidly I have left it there for the past couple of weeks or so as I have been so busy. I tried turing it over to move it last weekend, and it wouldnt start. I have tried it again today, and when I turn the key it now beeps at me (sounds like the horn). I tried jump starting it, but it wont even get near turing over.

I have read loads of problems with the power steering pumps etc, but this one sound different to the others.

I have more than happy to take it to a garage, but I have no idea where to take it as nothing has gone wrong with it since the warranty expired.

Is there something simple that I can try, or does it need expert help? If it does need expert help, can anyone recommend a garage in the Warrington area? I have tried looking on line, but I cant find anyone that looks to specialise in Minis or BMW's in the area. Do I just take it to Kwick fit? or is that a mortal sin? I am very worried about taking it to BMW because of the prices.

Any advise or recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Andrea.

You could give Clive a ring on 0151 236 6966 he is in Liverpool so not far from you-MINI and BMW specialists -looks like a 3rd pump!!
