Inside Manual Tailgate Release

Page 27 of the online version of manual shows a picture and says:
"3. Fold the rear seat bench upwards
4. Pull the ring. The tailgate is unlocked."

There is also a picture which I - and my salesman- could not figure out at all. He had no idea where the release was.

What do they mean by "fold upwards"? Is that the upright (seating)position? I had the seat in both up and down and can't see anything like a ring.

Did they omit the first two instructions?

Where is that darn release?

Thanks

Tom F.

Tom -

This topic has been covered here previously, and I believe that the interior hatch release cable was deleted before production. A search should reveal the thread(s).

Cheers,

Sorry-

I searched tailgate and trunklid before posting, to no avail.

Now I know why we could not find it.

You'll be telling me next that your Mini didn't come with a free glamour model in the passenger seat!

Taking full advantage of mine!
