Fin Comb

Anyone know off the top of thier head where to get a fin comb to straighten the fins/vanes of the intercooler and radiator on the Cooper S? I've only had my S one month, but the fins on the intercooler are already fairly dinged up from bugs, etc. The radiator isn't so bad, yet...

These are availiable at your local aircondtioning contracting/ supply house. I've had one for years for use on motorcyles. I'm a bit surprised the S has an issue. Hope that's not the case when I recive mine. I wouldn't recommend a screen because you'd be blocking too much surface area.

diverse,
I do both things occasionally . I also need my condenser and intercooler fins combed. Kansas has BIG grasshoppers that turn into microbursts above 90MPH...

Tom D,
Having the same problem, here's what I did and it helps. Take off the plastic intercooler cover and cut a piece of aluminum window screen to fit over the fins. The intercooler cover will hold down the screen when reinstalled. You still get the bugs, but the screen protects the fins.
