52 plate cooper noisey gearbox

hi, iv got a 52 plate cooper and the gearbox is developed a noise i susect the bearings have gone. has any one else had this problem and does anyone know if new bearings are available? im capable of repairng it IF the bearings are avaiable ive heard that they say you cant get the bits for the boxes

Hi Carl

I bought a 52 plate cooper 5months ago, had it 2weeks and had the same noise. Had to have a recon box put in. I managed to get BMW to pay for half the gearbox and haggled with the dealership for £100 off labour. Total bill £1300. Sorry dont know bout obtaining parts though.
