Crashing/Banging Suspension and Loose Feeling Steering

I have had KW Variant 1 Coilovers fitted for about a year now by Lohen but i now seem to be getting a Crashing/rattle/clonking noise coming from the front of car and also the steering feels loose...

I had the car in at the dealership about a month ago and they reckoned that there was slight movement in the ball joint on the near side but it was not significant enough to require repalcement they said... They would not have replaced under warranty they told me because of the aftermarket suspension and would have cost £139 +vat. My car is 2005 and warranty runs out November this year. The noise though seems to be coming from the drivers side aswell more i think..

Why the loose steering feeling?? could this be linked to ball joints?? and would i get a kind of crashing sound from bad ball joints? Anyone any experience in this?, i am concerned that it could be cv joints but the dealership said a month ago everything else was ok.

Has this happened to anyone else?? or similar sounding problems?

I am considering now getting the ball joint replaced and will prob book into dealership next week i am just worried it could be something more serious

Any help here would be much appreciated

It will be your lower wishbone bushes worn out, they dont cope with lowered suspension very well.

I had the same rattling sound when traveling on uneven roads. Had it checked and found out it was indeed the ball joint. If the rattling is loud, then it should be visible when you jack the car up and move the wheels about with your hands.

In my case, when I steered right on uneven roads at about 10 - 20 km/h, the left side of the car would rattle. When I steered left, it was ok. So, got the left ball joint replaced. Hope this helps.
