| Gearbox from the UK?? Reconditioned.. Hi there, I don't know what happened to my first post - so here goes again....: I am considering a 12/2001, 65,000miles Mini ONE as my next car. It comes with a full BMW warranty (6 months) - but I am a bit nervous about the gearbox.. The dealer says that a new replacement 'box costs 2,800 GBP.. Is there anyway to get it from the UK (or perhaps Sweden)any cheaper? I live in Copenhagen, Denmark.. And what are the things to look out for with the gearbox? By searching the forum I have seen that it apparently takes quite a lot of time to change the gearbox - is that correct? How many hours for a non-Mini mechanic would you expect? | I just had a recon box for £1100 inc vat. Took about 7 hours for a guy I know to fit it. Mini's are tiny and things are crammed in, so takes a while! Hope that helps.  |
