Major Problems!

Afternoon all!

I've got an '04 cooper s with the JCW engine and exhaust upgrade and have had the MOST amount of pretty serious problems with it. Just wondering if this is a one off "Friday afternoon" car or if any of you guys have had similar problems. Any info will help with my claim with BMW.

Problems so far :

Failed drive shaft - New one needed
Engine mounts failed - New ones needed
All ABS sensors failed (twice) - Now on third set
2 major oil leaks. Both required engine and gear box out
Passenger side lower ball joint replaced
Tie rods failed
Amplifier popped
Drive belt replaced
Belt tensioner replaced
Problem with alternator - Ongoing
Power steering pump/hose leak

The list does go on, i just can't remember the rest!

The car has only done 32,000 miles and most of these problems cropped up around 25,000 miles.

And for the record, i've never tracked it and tend not to thrash it on the roads either.

Like i said, have i just been unlucky or are there more of these out there!?

Any info greatly appreciated

Cheers,

Nick

Yeah, defo unlucky!

Luckily it's all been done under warranty. But that ended 2 days ago!! So i'm now getting a little nervous about picking these costs up myself.

I'm actually in the process of trying to get BMW/Mini to buy it back off me at a sensible price...

...not having much luck at the moment though

Cheers anyway

Nick

Alternative would be to buy a warranty?
