Unhappy Front spotlights, one cracked...new cover?

I have an 05 plate cooper with 4 spotlights on the front. I have just realised today that one is cracked! I phoned up my MINI dealer and asked if i can buy a new peice of glass/plasic, whatever it is, and i was told that it was not possible and that i would need a whole new lamp, costing around £70!!!!

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a new peice of glass/plastic for the lamp?

Gary

Hi, and welcome to MINI2.

This came up a few months ago, and unfortunately I think the general consensus was that it is not possible to buy just the lens.

You might have some luck on e-bay, as often a pair of OEM lamps go for far less than the dealer prices.

I also think that the Wipac lamps are the same design as the OEM's, someone like mikeythemini on here will be able to confirm that for you. If this is the case then they will be much cheaper than going to MINI for the parts.

James.

No problem.

Hope it doesn't cost too much, whatever way you manage to get it sorted.

Hi All,

one of my front lamps cracked before Christmas. Scared the life out of me and the missus when the glass hit the screen. I was quoted £126 for the fitting of a new unit at my local dealer. However having spoken to Chris at Woodmans he got me a set of black covers with MINI written on them. Cost £9.95 delivered. They clip on tightly and have been great over the winter months. They look pretty cool also and have saved me alot of cash.....You should find some pictures on here somewhere but PM if not and ill post some pics.

PS other sellers such as MiniMania do them but are alot more expensive for the same thing!!
