Tyre Pressure Light

Hi guys just got a quick question!!

I bought some 17" Cooper S wheels for my Cooper and after putting them on the tyre pressure light came on so, set all the pressures correctly then reset it. It soon came on again and I realised I had a slowish puncture so had the tyre replaced!! Now last night whilst driving the light has come on again, so I checked the pressures and one tyre was at about 30psi rather than the 34psi of the others. I really don't think that would cause the light to come on so do you think I have a faulty sensor?? If so where can I get it looked at other than the Stealers??

Cheers

The runflat indicator is run off the ABS sensors. It senses the wheels speeds, not the tyre pressure. If one of your tyres is rotating at a different speed to the others it assumes the tyre has gone down, and triggers the runflat light. Have any other lights come on, ABS maybe? My indicator triggers if there is about 10% difference in pressures so 30psi instead of 34 may have caused it. Equalise them all and see. And finally 34 psi seems a bit high to me, especially if the car isn't fully loaded with lugguage etc.
