Whats wrong with my alarm?????

hope some of you can help??????

after i finished washing my car at the weekend i went to go and lock my car, 5 or so minutes later the alarm went off, so i opened it and locked it again but the same thing keeps happening again and again.
What do you guys think the problem is as i would rather find out here first than take it to the stealers!!!!

I don`t know if this helps but i had the same alarm issue with my 2002 mini one a while back. It played up for about two weeks and i was at my whits end. Then the tempremental little git decided to play ball and went back to working properly. Basically mini`s seem to suffer with little electronic gliches and they seem to right themselves after a little while, so give it a chance and see if it sorts it self out.

i could be barking up the wrong tree but it could be worth checking that the fuel filler door is closed properly. I have known BMW cars to have alarm issues when the fuel filler door isn't quite shut properly...
