Remote Boot Unlocking

Hi All

Following on from the problems I've had with my boot lock, I need a definative answer from you helpful guys/gals.

When I bought my mini in January this year (march 07 plate) the boot would open remotely with the keyfob when the car was locked. This would only unlock the boot, not pop it open, but meant I could put my shopping in the boot without unlocking the whole car.

Recently this stopped working. I took the car into my local dealer who said they'd fixed it. When I got home it still didn't work. I took it back and now I'm told that this facility doesn't exist on my model! Although I did have the facility when I bought the car!

Been banging my head against a brick wall with the service department at Mini, but I am insisting this facility was there. I think they just don't know what the problem is and are trying to fob me off as it's easier and I'm 'just a girlie!'

The car is going in for two days this week for them to track the problem but I would love to be able to have some evidence to prove my case, so over to you lovely people......

Does anyone have a similar model - a March 07 Cooper Convertible - with remote opening for the boot from the keyfob when the car is locked?

Kizzy, I've a Jan 07 cooper hatch and the remote works on the boot, but you need to first open the driver's door with the remote first.......... ie press the door open first, then the boot open.
