Unhappy Nav screen delay on start

This weekend my Nav system screen quit coming on until a few minutes after I start the car.

It used to display the MINI logo when you opened the door. This is now gone.

I've already ejected and re-inserted the CD, but that wouldn't make since to me anyhow.

I have exactly same problem with my Navi in my MCS.
I brought it today to my dealer.

I'll keep you informed.

they are now checking with the Mini headquarter if they do know any solution....

Vielen Dank!

Hopefully MINI will know what the problem is. I think mine was built in late June or early July.

Did your Information on Location feature cause the system to reboot? Mine did that for a time as well.

NAv screen dead

My nav screen died this weekend. I thought it may have been related to the cold but no such luck. I am tkaing it to the dealer next week to see what they say.

Ayone have a clue yet as to what is causing this?

@bg Mini

Do you have any news re your navi screen ???

Mini still doesn't work perfectly. Still no Mini Logo and the screen went only on after 1 minute....

Have you asked your dealer already ???

Waiting for good news

I'm hoping your dealer would find the problem

I'll do some checking around as well.

Mine still doesn't work correctly.

Have you had any other work done on your MINI before the problem appeared?

Possibly, the technician knocked something off.

Perhaps weather related

Mine still works fine the second time I drive the car for the day. I am beginning to think it has something to do with the temperature and or humidity. When the car is cold, it does not work. After the car has been warmed up and I have let it sit turned off, say 20 minutes, it works just fine.

Not really happy with a Navi that only works in good weather as I live in Germany where winter is setting in.

re: Perhaps weather related

Seeing if there are any updates on this. I had the same thing happen this morning on the way in to work. You could tell the LCD was active but no NAV or computer. Drove it again later and everything was fine. It's just starting to get cold in these parts (upstate NY) and I too am wondering if it is related to that.

Cold Nav

I even tried updating to the new software. From the best I can tell, it happens when the temperature is below 40 degress f.

I am taking it in for its first service in a week or so and will address it with the BMW dealer here.

It is very consistant when it is cold, so I am sure it has something to do with the weather and some type of sensor or something.

Sat Nav

I've got Sat Nav in my MCS , but I havn't had problems as listed, however I had a Clarion Sat Nav in my Impreza Turbo , and that was slow to operaterate along the LED screen when ambient temperatures where low, the unit was under the passenger seat, screen to the side of the dash board. It was fine after the interior warmed up (5 mins).

I also I think this BMW syatem is inferior to the Clarion on facilities and general operation.

Weather related

Did it again this morning. I have to take the car in next Tuesday so I will ask the service manager then if they have been getting other complaints of the same thing, or if there is a fix available. I'll post findings next week.
