Question What makes the alarm go off?

Two nights ago, my Mini's alarm went off and woke me up!! I couldn't see anyone or thing around when I went outside, so was wondering what do you have to do to the car before the alarm goes off?

I know if you leave the windows open and lock the car then put your hands through the window will set it off but is there anything else?

Cheers

Mike

Alarms are funny things. They can be set off by atmospheric pressure, changes in temperature, wind, all sorts of things.

people rocking the car, the car being in an earthquake or on a ferry, etc ... though you'd probably have noticed those.

Good point.

That happens a lot in Northampton, especially in hotel car parks

Yeah movement is the worst for it HSS and slow boat ferrys make it go mad and it just keeps going.

If the window is slightly down it will go off as well if anything goes past the window.
