Mini One Convertible Roof Problem

I have a 2005 55 plate Mini one convertible (company car) for a month.

The roof goes halfway back (sunroof) and then when you press the button for it to drop all the way the led on the roof up button flashes constantly at a quick pace, no sounds of motors or anything. Reading page 37 of the manual it says this is to do with the the parcel shelf or the easy loading system not being set correctly. I have checked both and all appears well. Can anybody shed any light on this or a way of fixing it. i'm taking it away for 3 weeks on Monday around europe and would like to have a roof that fully retracts, I can't get it to BMW before I go.

Tried so far

Re-initializing the windows (holding both window buttons up at the same time).
Check Parcel shelf
Check arms that fix in easy loading are secure
Holding the central locking switch up (this apparantly should make the roof go half way down) then letting go and doing it again - No joy.

If anyone knows of a simple reset method or obvious thing to check please let me know.

Cheers

Solved!

O.K after reading around again every post seems to suggest the parcel shelf.

I opened the bot, removed the easy access leavers at the sides and lifted the roof a little giving clear access to the parcel shelf, on the left side under the shelf there is a small plastic button which the shelf sits on. My shelf although sat over this wasn't applying enough pressure to keep it down, so i sat a small cd case on it as a temporary measure and low and behold the roof is now working.

Just thought i'd post for people who have the problem in future.

Thank Youuuuuuuuu

Thank you sooooo much for your time in posting that, if you hadn't we would have lost another day trying to suss it.
We had the parcel shelf on the higher level and knew nothing of the button as the manual never mentions it. It is only from reading your post that helped us.
My mum came round with her problematic roof and of course had us all involved in trying to suss the problem. Soooo simple yet soooooo effective. We had even visited the local mini garage and they could'nt help!!
