Generally I've found that you're best to either keep the aircon on, or keep it off. Switching between the two results in lots of condensation/moisture.

Check the air recirculation is not on. Even if the light is not on give it a press just in case. I had a problem with this and thought that the heater had packed up on my car as it was always steaming up. The problem was solved when I pressed that button. It was like this had got stuck on.

I use Rain X - anti mist on the inside of the windows - works a treat

Can tell it does the job as i don't do the bit in the corner as the sat nav doesn't stick else - this bit steams up and the rest stays clear all the time

I also use Fog-X and it works wonders. My old MINI One was worst for it and always seriously misting up especially when it was raining and cold. My first day of ownership I almost couldn't see out on the motorway and at night - not good! I even took it back for this problem. They told me to put the air con on. I didn't have air con! Fog X cleared it up immediately. Its brilliant and even use it on the rear view mirror as this used to even fogged up. Just a MINI trait I guess! Not to bad with our current S but do it anyway cos its a good excuse to clean the windows!
