airbag warning light still on after reset tool

I bought a reset tool for my mini r53 and its still not taking the airbag light off?

i pluged it into the odb2 socket in the footwell, it came up with connection error. The tool has various other makes on the unit it works for so when i go onto the bmw e46 odb2 setting and try the airbag reset option on that one it says reset ok but its not gone off, i can reset the service settings on the bmw options but not my mini airbag light under the mini setting.

ive been in touch with the garage i got it from last week and they said they will get a specialist electrician who works on bmws/ porsches etc and he will sort it out.

What he has that the other auto electrician ive took it too does have god knows.

Im guted this hasnt worked.

Perhaps there is a more serious problem you should get looked at?

i just dont understand whats wrong with it, ive checked the wires under the seats and they are fine, its been run on a auto electricians diagnostics machine and its still not going off, ive noticed when you turn the car on and the lights on the dash go off it goes off for a second then come back on?

Your reset tool will only reset the light... if there genuinely is a fault with your airbag system, the fault code will reappear, and so will the light.

Resetting the fault code does not solve the initial problem!
