54 cooper convertable problems with roof

Any help greatly appreciated as car out of warranty and bmw quote is alot !

Had the hood down last weekend went to close it got stuck half way so opened it again and then tried to shut it again which it sort of did (did not engage properly over pax window) so tried to open it again but passenger side would not open at all, driver side began the process of the sliding open of the first part but the pax side did nothing.

As I said took it to BMW for a quote and came away quite depressed as told total new roof. Car is out of warranty, forgot to extend it and now paying the price .....any suggestions greatly appreciated

had the same issue with mine that god it was 2 years * 11 months old as i had a new roof.
just out of interest how much did bmw want for the fix,

Convertibles - hopeless

we have an 04 plate. Mini cherished warranty runs out 19th March - we have officially rejected the car through Mini Finance, and in the dealer at the moment for diagnosis again.

They are holding out!

I have asked for money back etc. but getting no where and want to give us £4K less than we paid for it.

Bought if from Soper of lincoln!

Went for a good will gesture through Mini UK will pay for the parts and 50% for labour, after diagnosis it was a new roof, but when I went in to book the car in they back tracked and said it was just the catches ...its been a nightmare will never buy a convertible again unless it has a warranty
