fixing oil leaks

Hey everyone,
I have an 05 mcs with 84,000mi.
Put a new 15% pulley on my car(did this myself) and noticed oil was almost 2 quarts low. After inspecting car noticed the whole underside on passenger side was covered in oil. Oil pan has been leaking and the valve cover is also leaking. Is there anything special I need to know to be able to replace these two gaskets. I have already have the gaskets. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric
