| Engine coolant topping its self up!! :S:S:S Hi ive just had my thermostat and thermostat housing replaced as i was loosing engine coolant. I checked my engine coolant today and it had dropped again however when the car has reached halfway on the temperature gauge the coolant is back upto max again!! i am confused as to why it is doing this? any help would be appreciated. Thankyou |

| Sounds like it should... This is due to expansion from heating of the coolant. Here is a good read. Automobile Engineering Basics:What is a Pressure Cap and Expansion Reservoir in cooling systems? You should be checking the coolant level when the car is hot to ensure that you are not over filling it. |
