 Newbie with Clutch / Gearbox issues
Hi, first time poster so be gentle
I have a Mini Cooper Park Lane on an 06 plate. On Saturday I found it difficult to get into the lower (1 and 2) gears, got home ok parked up, yesterday I find it will not go into first or second at all when engine is running. It will go into first when engine stopped, then release clutch car moves off normally, will not go into second but 3, 4 operate OK.
Car has only done 28,000 and, isnt it always the case, is 3 weeks out of the manufacturers warranty (extended BMW purchased).
The AA recovered it to BMW dealer (Tring) who want £540 to investigate, if it is a fault covered under the extender warranty they will refund the £540, minus 250 excess
I love the mini and was about to buy another but this is really poor service, will swop it in for something cheaper I think.
Anyone else experienced similar, surely clutches (if it is) should last longer than this, and NO I do not ride the clutch and I live out in the sticks so not too much stuck in traffic queues.
