i am guessing here but do you need to turn the key into the ignition for about 10secs to program the key with car? Try that!

Did you ever solve this? I'm currently having this problem and haven't got a clue how to fix it!

I had exactly this problem,
Your door actuator has gone, costs around £100 to be replaced and fitted.

Hi all, I'm new to the (very helpful) forum.
I have just picked up my "new" 03 MCS and I seem to have the same problem - except my car alarm sometimes, but not always goes off when I manually unlock the door. Also I cannot unlock the boot! Probably covered by the garage warrenty but it's helpful to know what the problem is likely to be.
Thanks.
