Upper engine mount

Upper engine mount:
I've read that many other members are having problems with this engine mount; some requiring several mounts to be replaced. Using the info I've read here I contacted my dealership and asked if Mini is taking responsibility for an obvious defective part. Of course - No, not at this time. I asked what the dealer would do before I go to NHTSA and file a defect report on NHTSA's website. I was offered a 50/50 split to replace the mount.
This is the first mount to go on our MCS with 52k miles, but still something should be done. I encourage everyone who has this problem, regardless of help from your dealership, to file a defect report. Let Mini know we paid boku bucks for our cars and expect something like this type of part to last.

Wait, you got 52K out of an engine mount and you are complaining? Mounts and bushings are not designed to last forever and if you got that much out of it, I'd say you are doing well. I had one fail and it cost a whopping 60 dollars for me to replace. Why did I replace it rather than warranty it? I modified my car and it is possible that I caused the failure.

Honestly, I have never had a engine mount last longer than 50K on most cars. I would be willing to bet that most people don't even know that they fail until someone points it out or they see a leak.

Is this the oil filled mount ? Dave at ThinkMini-specialist UK has solved the known problem.
