Total Electrical systems failure

Hello All!
I have a 2005 Mini. last week the battery died and I put a new one in. Upon connecting the new battery, the ABS pump would not stop running and the car has lost all electrical power. No abs, no lights, no windows, now speedo tach, or anything. The dealer is telling me that 3 of the computers are bad,and it will cost $4000.00 in parts alone to fix it! I find this a littel shady and I was looking for some suggestions and help from you all here!! Thank you!
