Hi
We've just bought a Mini One '06 (not the new shape though). About 30 seconds after starting, we get a 'boop' noise. We have our seat belts on but am wondering what it is. Can anyone shed some light?
Is it the seat belt noise at all? Weather is warm so it's not the temp warning sound.
Thanks
Granger
if u have the sat nav (not sure about the non sat nav) then go into the computer and there will be a thing called a limiter. Basically is gives off a bong when u go past a certain speed limit. when i bought my mini it was set at 6mph so when ever i pulled away it was bongging. U can set it to what ever speed you wish. I got mine at 60 mph so i can do 0-60 runs hehe and also thats national speed limit.
I only passed my test 2 years ago...The national speed limit on dual carriageways/motorways for a car is 70 MPH...If you're towing a trailer etc it's 60 MPH.
Hey Granger - congrats on your purchase.
Sounds to me like you may have bits of a hands free car kit like the nokia CK-7W fitted to the car by a previous owner. They often give a (normally quite loud) boop noise after approx 10-20secs of ignition on.
Best way to check is if with your mobile - turn on bluetooth and scan for new devices - you may well see some sort of hands free come up.
Know nothing about the MINI sat nav system so will bow to others knowledge on that front.
