Newbie - problems

Hi,

I'm new to all this but am hoping someone might be able to help me sort out a couple of problems on my wifes 2002 Mini Cooper.

The most pressing is that low beam has stopped working on the driver side recently. I've changed the bulb but that hasn't sorted it. Full beam is working fine.

The other problem we have is that the passenger side seat does not move forward and fold with the lever anymore. It has to be done in 2 actions - move the seat forward on the runners and then fold the seat. The BMW dealer said that it needs new runners and wanted to charge us about £200 for the priviledge. Surely it is just a snapped cable or something?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

hello and welcome to the forum! I am not sure about the seat adjuster as I havnt a mini yet!! The lights have you tried something easy like a fuse as normally the fuse for the main beam and the normal driving lights operate seperately, if not it may have a loose wire.

Thanks for the suggestion, not tried anything yet but will have a look tonight. Although i'm quite hands on and up for DIY (i designed and built a new kitchen, bedroom and bathroom extension to my house last year) i'm not too sure where to start with cars!!
