United-Kingdom Radiator overheating. No leak

My MINI One radiator keeps overheating or so the temp gauge tells me, after a certain amount of driving. But it goes down all most straight away then does it again. Also the ABS warning light comes on when it happens. Ive already plugged one leak with radweld and poured another half bottle in so there is no leakage. Any help/suggestions on this problem appreciated.

well you could try and remove the termostat and place in hot water to see if the thing reacts

do the fans come on...if not it could be the same thing as I have. The fan pack has failed and even though the thermostat is working the fans won't come on. They should be on all the time once the car is sitting still and overheating.

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!

I'm guessing then its either a thermostat issue or a faulty reading? Does it steam when it goes into the red on the guage or does it not actually overheat?

You may have gotten an airlock in the cooling system when it leaked and you refilled it. There are three bleed screws that need to be used to get all the air out or the car will overheat terminally.
