Plea for help!! Mini not starting

Hi all, I hope you can help....

I have a Mini Cooper 51 reg and was running fine up until 2 weeks ago. I drove it to work in the morning and then after work tried to start it and it wouldn't fire.

Had to get it towed home and since then it's been stuck and haven't been able to get anywhere with fixing it - any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

When the key is in the ignition at the 'on' position the water temp gauge goes straight to the top of the dial (not usual) and all other usual warning lights are on. When I turn the key to start the engine it turns over but wont fire up.

RAC initially came out and found a fuse blown on ECU - replaced it.
They connected their computer diagnostics and this would not connect to read any fault.

Had someone come out from a local garage and they said they couldnt get any reading from ecu either.

I sent ECU away for testing and they sent it back to say it is 90% ok but they did not have full info on vehicle to run full test, but no faults found.

My dad has had a look for me and found another fuse had gone on the temp gauge display and also changed this.

What do you think is wrong with it? I have someone coming out to look at it next week to check the wiring, but feel like i'm getting no where and spending lots of money in the process.

Very frustrated and missing my little mini.....

So when the RAC came out and replaced the fuse did it start working?

Do you have breakdown cover that comes to your home?

Really stupid question, it's not the battery/starter motor at all? (I know you've probably tried this but had to ask! )

Hoe you get it sorted soon.

Hiya thanks for getting back to me. No the fuse didn't make any difference when it was changed. Rac came out and couldn't find any fault so suggested towing it home! Also battery is ok and starter motor appears fine ........???
