Canada F21 10A Fuse Problem

Hello All,

Long time reader, first time poster...

Just last week I had my dash instruments fail. My dash lights stop working, the engine temp, gas gauge and RPM gauge just stopped. Even my power locks where disabled. So I'm assuming it's a fuse...So I looked it up and yes indeed fuse F21 was blown. So I decided to replace the fuse...when I started up in a few minutes the fuse blows again...

So I replaced it again, to only have it blow again...It looks like a short to me. If thats the case, what could I do? If its not a short, what could it be?

Thanks,

F21 10A Control module for instrument cluster

A wiring short somewhere or failed control module? Will possibly need a dealer diagnostics to find where.

Alright I took it to an electrician and he found a loose wiring right under the hand breaks, so now it works fine...Only problem now is that the interior gauge lights don't switch off now...Any idea why?

OK I got fed up and took it to Mini to find out what the problem is...My Instrument Cluster had a short on it, so I had to change the whole Odometer, cost $1000 just for the part...

I joking asked him, since its a new Odometer can't you just program a new mileage amount on it....he laughed, saying he technically could, but he would get fired....

No harm in trying right?...

So it cost me $1200 to switch off a light, Gross if you ask me!
