exhaust outer layer rusted through

the outer case on the xhaust back box has corrded through exposing the inner layer...the car has 3 months left on warranty witht he garage i got it from...does the exhaust need replacing, or could i blag that it does so that it can get fixxed under warranty?

Mine's doing it too... Apparently, the outer layer is just a heat shield, but as you've got a warranty its worth trying... Probably will get put down to wear and tear mind...

How old is the car?

its a 2005 mini one, i only bought the car from a garage a few weeks ago though, absolutly love the car

i have the same got a old 51 reg back box corroded but it flew thru it's mot

there is no harm in asking the person you bought it from, maybe they need to keep a good reputation!

It'll just be the outer cover thats rotting on yours. The actual exhaust is inside here - when the case flakes off theres another exhaust - its like having 2 exhausts Nothing to worry about - chances are you have years left! Only thing to worry about apparently is the exhaust bracket rots through
