temperature gauge doesnt move

today in heatwave, i could hear the fan working hard , then i realised the temperature gauge stays at the cold end without moving a bit.

expansion tank is full though before i send to the shop i wondered if any one know where is the bolt where you release old colant/water so i can flush with water and refill?
or that may not be the case anyway?

I dont think there is a drain plug as such I think you have to undo the clip around the hose and discharge that way or you can get a tool from halfords to draw fluids.

The MINI "temperature gauge" is not a real gauge. It is only an idiot warning light, styled to look like an analog gauge. The needle stays in the middle unless the car overheats, then it suddenly moves all the way to the top.

On the same boat kinda, my temp gauge rise to middle when car is at a stand still but as soon as i start to drive again for any length of time it falls back down to zero. Anyone have any ideas is it a cooliant problem.
