Loose Feeling Through Steering Wheel

Recently started feeling a sort of loose metal feeling through the steering wheel when going over rough, uneven roads, and is more apparent when the bump is on the front left wheel. It kind of feels like metal slightly knocking against metal.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be? I've had a thought that it might be the wishbone bushes or some sort of bushing

Thanks

Bushings? Sounds like they are going out. They are easy to check by a pro and fairly cheap for parts. I recommend powerflex ones. However, the time to install them will cost a little. It takes about three hours.

Yeah it probably is, but the thing is when I changed my wheels not long ago, I remember Lucky Dave saying something about how to check your bushings with a wheel brace to see how much forward/backwards play there is on the wheel, and there didn't seem to be TOO much movement, there was a bit but I'm not really sure whats classed as a lot of movement in this scenario.

I remember reading a thread on NAM yesterday on bushings and a lot of the people, including track racers etc were saying to stick with the OEM bushes for street use and some were even happy to say to use them for the track. It was something about the movement of the wishbone and other parts which poly bushes don't allow to happen and the OEM bushings have been thoroughly tested and do work well so I think I might just stick to OEM bushes
