Over heating prob help please!!

Hi there

I have an 05 cooper which has been over heating the story so far:

Red light comes on and engine fan comes on while driving or when stopped in trafic, or when turn off the engine, though not all the time, no hot air only when revs are high, A/C ok though.

Been to dealer said it needed new radiator due to impact damage(!!) ok new radiator fitted.

same problems go back they say mayby just air in system do pressure check all ok....go home...same problems.

Go back for third time they changed the thermostate..go home..all ok for a day then same problems again...so £500 down and still no joy!!

Any advice on what it could be or what to do next.

silly question have you checked the water level.

does not seem to be loosing coolant.

Well been back again to the strealers now they say its the cylinsder head casket another £800 or maby with good will £450.

i have no faith in them so think I might take it else where.

What do you think of this saga.
