High pitched noise after new brakes

Hello there/

I've just had my wifes 2004 cooper D in the local garage (none BMW) for some new brakes.

They replaced the rear discs and pads, and front pads. Thing is it's all of a sudden got a constant high pitched whistle as your travelling.

The noise goes away when you hit a bump but it REALLY squeels when you press the brakes.

Has anyone had this before? - What whould this be?

Thanks for your help!

high pitch squeel when you press the brake can be fixed by applying some brake paste.
If you still have high pitched whistle even if you don't press the brake, that could be something else.
By the way, some local brake shop may not know how to install rear brake pads.

Always... if you have anything weird after brake job, pull them out again and check them all. There must be something.

United-Kingdom Squeal/howling noise after replacing rear brake pads.

I replaced my rear brake pads on my 2005 mini cooper.
Was fine for a few days but now when i'm travelling at 40+ mph i can hear a squealing/howling/whining sound from what i now to be the back of the car. if i depress the clutch and take it out of gear it's still there until the cars slowed down a lot.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks
