United-Kingdom slow pick up when first cold start

Low milage 02 mini one engine bogs down first time its started from cold when pulling away in first if i rev the engine between the drive and the first junction aprox 100 yards then there is no problem pulling out of the junction if i just drive slowly to the junction then when i pull out the engine does not pick up for 20 yards. Any ideas please. Its had new air filter, plugs and service within the last 6ooo miles.

I'll have to keep an eye out on this thread as well.
Does you Mini perform fine after it's warmed up? Have you noticed your exhaust backfiring?

Me too!

New BMW mini owner (r52 CS Conv 6s Manual) and I have the same issue.

It's about 50 metres to the end of my road which joins a busy junction. With the engine cold I have to be really careful pulling in to traffic, generally I have to sit on the bite point then over rev and let the clutch slip to keep the revs up to stop the splutter then within 5 metres I can release the clutch fully and accelerate at will but I think this times in with the SC kicking in.

I'm going to be changing SC components but this would only bring it in a lower revs but I guess wouldn't effect the standing start.

Now, with my old cooper all you needed was a No.2 slotted screwdriver, an understanding missus and a free sunday afternoon but beemers are a whole new world for me.
