Exclamation Loud Clatter Sound

Hello all,

I have noticed a noticeably loud clatter sound coming from my engine this evening, this started after i topped up the oil from Ow30 to 5w30, this sound is one that i have heard before maybe from the oil pump? The sound usualy dissapears within a minute or so after driving away only this time the clatter has remained sustained and louder if below 2000 rpm? Any advice on this issue would be very helpful

Many Thanks.

Hello all,

theres no need to reply to this thread now, the problem has been

resolved, i left my car overnight and the clatter sound has now gone away, i

was concerned because it sounded alot louder than usual and did not go away

after the usual 30 sec to a min worth of time,

Many thx

It sounds like your Hydraulic Lifters to me.

It will come back.

Did it sound like a diesel low down in the revs?
