Black Cooper Knock Noise when I pull off....?

Hi Guys

I have a facelifted Sept 2004 MINI One Manual 65k on the clock.

Recently in the last week its developed a knock noise when I drive off, it only does it once until I stop and then drive off again.

I can get it to make the knock when driving if I quickly take foot of gas and then put it down quick again...?
It sounds like a knock/rocking noise - its not contineous it only will do it once when you move off or as I said when foot on/off gas pedal quickly...(without using cutch)

I dont think its the steering as the steering wheel isnt moving when its making this noise, and its had new tyres in the last 4 months so I dont think its to do with this.

I have opened the bonnet up and cant see anything loose but im no mechanic and checked around the interior to make sure nothings rolling around...

It sounds like its coming from the front of the car...maybe in the engine?

I guess I will have to take it into a garage but would like to know if anyone would have any idea what it could be?

I have tried to ignore it but its really annoying me.
Anyone had this problem before?
Thanks in advance for replies

Hi
Sounds like the top offside engine mount has collapsed. Take a look to see if there is a pool of fluid under it, it is mounted on the side of the suspension housing above the wheelarch. it is a simple job to change. I found one on fleabay and it took about 45 min to change. It has been covered on here various times before and is a common fault.
Hope this helps

Pat
