Angry My mini went up in flames!!!!!

MY MINI WENT UP IN FLAMES!!

Driving along on friday night I the EML came on and suddenly I lost all power to my wee mini. I pulled over (well had no choice really ) and opened up the bonnet to find a nice wee fire in my engine bay. I ran to get a fire extinguisher and to my horror the entire engine bay went up. The whole bay is a molten mess and think it's gonna be a write-off

the fire brigade had a right laugh

anybody else experienced anything like this??? I know its not the SP as thats farther back than the fire started but I really don't have a clue

gutted don't know if I'll go for another one or not!

Oh no, sorry to hear that, poor MINI I haven't heard of a fire in the engine bay, just people drifting to a stop after losing power. Have MINI any ideas?

Really sorry to hear about your poor MINI.

I belive I had a close encounter two weeks ago with regards to this. Picked up a brand new Cooper S on 1st March and after 1500 miles was driving home and lost power rapidly. Managed to pull over and was put on a tow truck, engineer came out the following morning and this time took it to my dealer. When unscrewing the spark plugs from the engine, there was just neat fuel flowing. After 5 days at the dealership it had all cylinders, a fuel injector and engine manifold replaced.
