Emisson light wont come off

Hi guys

I've put on a de-cat pipe on my MCS and the emisson light came on after a few days..

I saw that this is also a problem sometimes when fitting sports-cat and that I could disconnect the post-cat lambda to get rid of the light..

I've disconnected it and disconnected the battery for around 15min since it didnt disappear at once.. But its still on!

Am I doing something wrong?

You tossed a code and it will likely have to be cleared with a reader for it to go out. Doing what you did you keep it out but from what I have heard the MINI does not run well without a cat as it needs that back pressure.

Thanks for the tip, but regarding the back pressure etc, I can confirm to you that it's not the case, my MINI doesnt run any worse, quite the opposit

I mounted the Janspeed manifold with Janspeed de-cat pipe and Simons stainless "cat-back" exhaust, sounds fantastic and run quite well! A combination I'm not afraid to recommend to other R53's

I'll try to get the faultcode deleted and then see what happens

Doesn't matter to me as I won't run without a cat. Here it is the law (as i suspect it is there as well) and it simply isn't good for the environment.

As above basically...

The light can turn itself off if run under 'normal' conditions for a while however, but if running decat it will stay on... mine comes on now and again and im running a sports cat, under certain circumstances it will go off again - normally driving hard turns it off, which makes me laugh...

Decat is basically for noise only on the mini - causes problems with the light, makes the exhaust very raspy, and it will loose you boost pressure and hence power and torque... I lost 5whp on a back to back test (note thats at the wheels)...

Basically the decat will loose you any power you gained from adding the performance manifold

Running 211whp
