Unhappy Help!!

A friend of mine has bought a snap on diagnostic machine, so i decided to put the mini on and clear any faults which it had on it.

Under Airbag it had:

0B Battery Disconnection 1

Under ABS or Electrical it had

5DB0 Wheel speed sensor position rear left
5E18 CAN: Data error from DME/DDE
5E16 CAN Instrumentation
5E5C Rpa Sensor Error
5DF7 CAN: Control Module

I know what the wheel speed sensor is, i believe Rpa is something to do with the runflat tyres (possibly replated to the wheel speed sensor???)

The others though, i do not have a clue. The machine tried to clear the airbag fault, but couldnt

It wouldnt even attempt the others.

Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

I would personally not mess with anything! If I know nothing about the fault and no lights appear on the dash, (especially airbag faults which would light up anyway) id leave them alone or go to a MINI specialist.

well i dont particularly want to leave my car with faults on it.

i took it to BMW, they told me that the car couldnt connect to their diagnostic equipment! so, as the snap on device did and its pulled up a list of faults, i'd like to know what they are.

did you expect to find any faults? i.e. were you experiencing any issues with the car?

I believe that a bad wheel sensor can cause all those faults. I would replace the sensor and clear the codes to see if they return. Wheel sensors going bad is not uncommon.

No issues with performance, the car just passed an MOT with no advisories etc.

the only issues for me being the rcl doesnt work and the airbag light likes to come on and off as it feels

Ok, i'll try that, obviously the wheel speed sensor needs changing anyway.
