Can anyone help me??? Gearbox, Clutch and Flywheel replacement Mini cooper 04 plate!!

Please can anyone tell me if you can tell what has made the heat spots on the flywheel... Gearbox problem or clutch problem?

I have a faulty gearbox which is being replaced under a Vauxhall warrenty but I am replacing the clutch but the flywheel may need to be replaced.

What will happen if I don’t replace the flywheel with the new clutch and gearbox?

Im thinking if the gearbox is at fault then maybe the warrently will cover the whole lot??? but need to know if they can dispute the fact that the damage to the flywheel has been done by the clutch and normal wear and tear of the cars age & miles. Can anyone tell me if this could be a correct senerio... Gearbox has fault therefore making the clutch need replacing and in turn has made the flywheel need replacing???

Very unlikely a gearbox fault would cause a clutch or flywheel to fail. A badly worn clutch plate or faulty clutch could damage the flywheel though.
It is normal to replace a clutch assembly when the gearbox is removed, no matter what the wear, because to replace a clutch at a later date involves repeating almost the same amount of dismantling and labour as for doing the gearbox.
