Question 2005 cooper s conv auto gearbox high revs and jumping

Hello all, im after some help please. Got 2005 mini cooper s conv automatic at about 31k on clock. Car has been having jerky gear changes, doesnt do it all the time just randam. Today as i was slowing down and used the brake like going from 3rd gear to 2nd the car high reved and pulled forward quite sharply. And then shorty after that i was going downhill gently using the brake and as the car went down a gear done the same but then had a rattle noise from the engine. Then has been fine the rest of the day. Recently had some work done on the car front rear bushes and o/s tie rod end so asked the garage to plug in and check no faults and nothing came back. The jerking does seam to be happening in automatic 1st to 2nd gear or 2nd to 3rd gear. Any suggestions greatly appreicated. many thanks.

Canada Jerky transmission

You state your car is 2005, as is mine, but mine is a CVT and if the battery is low this can happen and has on my car. A new battery and the problem disappeared.
