Advice on a windscreen issue

Hi guys

My 2004 MC was recently repaired after a minor accident. After I got my car back, I noticed my windscreen has this bizarre layer of substance. It becomes distracting and obvious when the sun is in front of me while I was driving.

When the sun hits the windscreen from the front, the windscreen turns into a piece of glass full of fine dots. It almost looks like milky way except that it is uniform.

It took me some time to figure out why this has happened. I think while my car was at the smashrepairer's workshop, they must have forgotten to cover my windscreen when they spray painted my car or a car next to mine or something.

The "milky way" is translucent so I guess it must be paint varnish or some sort.

Apart from scraping the entire windscreen, is there a cleaning agent that could do the trick? Any advice is appreciated.

MangaGal, overspray is pretty common and to be honest even in normal conditions glass will pick up surface body contaminants just like bdy work paint. before going to extremes I would recomment using a good glass poish/clearer like car-lack 68 as a first step, this should clear your problem. If this doesnt do the trick, I have used a light degreaser on other peoples cars to clear overspray on paint you obviously have to be carful with degreaser on paint as it can be acidic but you can get non acidic ones, a non acidic wheel clearer will do a similar job and will be fine on glass if you use the car-lack 68 or similar after. hope this helps.
