Total Electrical Failure on MCS

Hi everybody, have been lurking on this forum for a while now but never contributed, until now. Took delivery of "our" (its supposed to be my wife's but I have managed to put more mile on it than she has!)a few months ago and in this time it has done 800 miles as we live in town and never go very far in it. It has however now had two complete and total power failures such that even the hazard warning lights would not operate. The first time it happened the car was a week old and done 150 miles, I was about to overtake someone and suddenly nothing. It had to be pushed to the side of the road. It was eventually diagnosed as the main power feed to the fuse box having become unclipped and was simply re-attached. I thought this would be it until last night when it happened again, thank fully this time the car was parked.

Obviously this is a major safety concern for me and I am very unhappy that the fault has not been fixed properly and made my views very clear to my dealer (who did not do the first fix for a number of reasons. I wondered whether anyone else has experienced anything similar and what the underlying problem was?

By the way, the Mini Assistance operation which I have now had to use twice, is dreadful with replacement cars not being ordered from the correct branch of the Hire Company, delays in getting it towed and general lack of knowledge by both the call centre operators and the drivers who are supposed to try and fix it before towing it away. You really need to be very firm with them and demand that they do things. You have been warned! Rant over.

For what is in almost all respects such a fantastic car this has really dented my confidence in its reliability and safety and would therefore appreciate anyone who has any information that would lead to a permenant fix. Sorry for the length and thanks in advance.

Thanks here2help, I checked the main battery feed and it was tight. Will get the dealer to look at the fuse box feed and make sure that is also tight.

Cheers
