OBC display freaking out

Hey guys,

So I just noticed that my OBC display is acting strangely. It splits it time, roughly equally, between:
1. Displaying everything properly
2. Displaying nothing
3. Displaying random jibberish, random pixels, lines, etc...

It'll be doing this while i'm driving, as i'll look down one minute and it'll be fine, and then it'll be jumping around...its very distracting!

I dont know much about the system, but the variable nature of it makes me think it's a loose wire or connection somewhere. Would any of you be able to point me in the right direction for where to start looking?

Whatever.

Hm, well I experienced this exact same thing in my 1987 325e...oh BMW, I guess some things never change.

In that car, the OBC was doing the exact same thing. There were no loose connections, etc; I eventually replaced it and the issue went away. Obviously the issue may be different, and I wouldn't suggest jumping right to replacement, but have somebody look at it. These R53's are pretty rattly, so it would not surprise me in the least if something giggled loose while you were driving.

Hi, my 2002 mini does this too, did you get to the bottom of it yet?
