Scotland ABS light and wheel speed sensor codes

ABS light and wheel speed sensor codes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi All,

looking for some help on this....

I had my mini in to a garage today for some diagnostics

the first was for an airbag light which has come back as;
03 lgn circuit ZK2/belt tensioner passenger
05 lgn circuit ZK4/ side airbag front left

the second was on the abs side;
SD91 wheel speed sensor position front left
SD92 wheel speed sensor pulse gear front left

Any help appreciated on this 2001 cooper model, i changed the n/s front bearing and sensor around 9 months ago and the light came on about 2 weeks after this. I've not done anything on the airbag side.

thanks in advance

Took some advice on this.

I replaced the n/s front wheel speed sensor and also disconnected the battery for over an hour and also undid the yellow and blue connectors for the airbag side of things below the passenger seat and check wires, plugs, etc.

My runflat light is still on despite having run the car for a couple of miles.

The airbag light is still on.

anyone help at all?

You need to disconnect your battery, unplug both the yellow and blue plugs, spray them with either WD50 or smear some electrical silicon compound onto the pins and reconnect them with force.

Reconnect the battery and use a B200 BMW Airbag (SRS) Scan & Reset Tool
which costs £50 to clear the fault codes and to turn off the airbag light.

The airbag light is a common problem - the US got a product recall and the wiring loom replaced (there's a thread here). We triggered ours by flipping the seat forward to let someone in with the engine running.
The cheapest thing to do is to get a B200 reset tool. Once you have it make sure the contacts under the passenger seats are well connected then tape them up to make them harder to disturb and don't keep anything under the passenger seat!
