Angry *Help* 02 Mini Runs but Cant Move" EP lignt on"

I got stuck at a store today, jumped into the car after shopping started my 2002 Mini Cooper Automatic placed in drive and nothing cant move a inch, noticed a EP light on. Had to have the car towed home.

This past saturday ive been looking online and have seen tons of CVT trans problems , so i thought my CVT belt broke i droped my trans pan & removed the trans pack and my CVT belt is ok and not broken also the CVT oil and bottom of the pan looked clean.

What could this be??? a sensor/bad trans computer?? what??

car runs but cant move at all ,it does go into every gear just fine.

EP (Emergency Program) is sometimes triggered by low battery voltage, even though you can start the car is there enough power left for everything else including powering up the CVT control modules?
How old is your battery, if still the original BMW battery from 2002 it may be nearing the end of its life.
Also sometimes a battery disconnect for a few minutes can reset everything back to defaults, so always worth a try.

I thought it was the Battery Also, got a new one & same problem. Ive just read a post on a other forum that someone had the same problem but no one had replied to there post yet.

Im going towards some fried electronics/switch somewhere it think.

Oh if anyone cares there is a 02-06 Mini Cooper Complete Service Manual download on the other forum (NAM). its a large file but worth the free download. thought i would throw that in as i was hunting the internet last night for a service manual.
