Hi all, im hoping you can help me with a problem i have.
Yesterday i serviced my R50 cooper 2001, when it came to the fuel filter i looked in the manual to find it is in the tank etc.
When i pulled the sender unit out i found it looks different to the one in the manual, and every one ive seen on the how to's online, most seem to simply have a screw top and a paper filter, which is what i was supplied with, however my sender has clips that you need a million hands to hold and pull the top off! and a metal filter which i cant seem to remove once the top is off!
After swearing at it for a while i gave up and popped it all back together, now my guage is reading empty when the tank is full!, i checked everything and even moved the floats manually, the guage moves all the way down to the stop, but only goes up to just above empty!
What i want to know is why is my sender different to everything else ive seen, and what have i done wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Many thanks
