2002 Mini potential battery issues...?

For the past couple of days, I've noticed my '02 Mini has been experiencing (what I believe) potential battery issues.

When I've started my car the past few days, it's sort of stalled, and the trip mileage thingie (excuse my technical terms) has reset itself, as well as the Avg. Speed, Consumption, etc. things in the RPM thingie. (Really, I apologize. )

Tonight, however, my car completely died. I turned it off to pump gas, and nothing happened when I attempted to turn it back on. No lights came on, no sounds were made when I turned the key--nada. My dad had to help me jump start it.

Please tell me it's ONLY a battery issue? Please? And at that, how much do batteries normally cost in an '02?

If it is the original 02 BMW battery still fitted then it will have reached the end of its life.............just had to replace mine in an 02 for the same reasons. Here in UK price varies between £60 to £100 depending on quality of battery and length of battery warranty (2-5 years).
