| OBD Code P2097 I apologize for starting a new thread, but I figured it might be a good idea since the developments I've encountered are slightly different than what I originally posted about. My '06 Cooper is turning up an error code of P2097. According to the sticky, this translates to "Post catalytic converter fuel trim , bank 1 - too rich". My mechanic says that he's never heard of this code before, and he needs to do some research. Is anyone familiar with what this might mean? It sounds to me like it is the O2 sensor after the catalytic convertor. Am I correct? And is this an expensive fix? I'd like to have some knowledge of what is going on before I speak with my mechanic on Wednesday. Thank you |

| Well, I brought the car in this morning, and the mechanic checked it over. Turns out, it needs about $700 worth of parts mostly due to emission control upkeep. The good news is, they are doing all the work for free due to the fact that I did just buy the car from them. I am replacing some wipers and a gas cap out of my own pocket, but that's piddly change compared to what the SES light was diagnosing. |
