Light fault! HELP!! they come on automatically!

Hi,

I have a mini one convertable 2005.
In the last week a fault has occured with my lights! After driving once I've reached my destination, I switch off my lights take the key out of the ignigition and leave the car then lock it. Then it seems a few minutes later the headlights will come on automatically!? even with the car locked.
So I go back to the car and see it on the switch the lights is off, however they are actually on. SO i have not mistakenly left them on or anything.
I have to turn the switch and put them on then switch it off again so they come off.
It is as though there is a timer or a faulty switch that they come on automatically at random times.
Has anyone had this problem?
Please help!
Thanks!!

Do they go off on their own, if you leave it? Might be the follow me home headlight feature? I don't have that feature so not sure how it works.

No it doesn't go back off.
It might have something to do with programme lighting?
Sometime it comes on 10 seconds after locking, other times it might be 5 minutes after I've locked the car

Hi, is it all the lights or just the front side lights?
My wife's LED sidelights stay on for ages and even flash on and off if it's in a good mood.
